One of the more interesting aspects of this seaside home: Its ocean-facing side must be dark during sea-turtle nesting season (March through October) to meet local codes.
The other challenge here: This building is — believe it or not — a $30 million spec home. As the team at ETC tells us, “the home’s systems must be flexible enough to appeal to a wide variety of potential buyers, yet able to be modified to accommodate the personal choices of the future owner.”
Those systems include:
* A full security system with alert speakers, perimeter motion detectors, and a wine room monitor,
* Surveillance that includes 15 cameras,
* Crestron controlled lighting,
* Sixteen audio zones,
* Sixteen TV locations,
* Four separate video inputs on a 98-inch Planar wall,
* And eight HVAC zones.
Programmed scenes include a “Realtor” function that delivers perfect lighting, comfortable temps, and cool jazz to potential buyers. The project won Finalist honors at the 2018 CEDIA Awards (Best Integrated Home, Level IV, Americas). ETC
