60 Seconds with CEDIA Volunteer Jason Knott

Nov 23, 2015

To show our appreciation for our volunteers, we turn the spotlight on them from time to time and learn what drives them day in and day out. Today, we meet volunteer Jason Knott of EH Publishing, Inc. in Framingham, MA.

A volunteer since 2011, Knott currently volunteers in support of CEDIA training initiatives.

Why do you volunteer?

It helps connect me more closely with the industry.

What’s your favorite CEDIA memory?

I have been doing educational seminars for many years. It makes me feel great whenever I hear from an integrator who tells me that they did something I recommended and it helped their business.

What’s your advice for new volunteers?

Take the perspective of learning from the volunteer work for your own benefit.

What would be the title of your autobiography?

What songs are on the soundtrack to your life?

"Takin' Care of Business" by BTO

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Central Coast of California

What was the first thing you bought with your own money?

An album by Roger Miller, "Dang Me"

What would we find in your refrigerator right now?

Lots of milk

What is your favorite color?

Dodger Blue

What phrases do you use the most?

"Terrible" and "Crazy Baby"

What is your all-time funniest prank?

I once contacted the TV show "Entertainment Tonight" and had autographed photos of John Tesh sent to my brother after he made an off-hand remark about hearing one of his songs.
