CEDIA Boot Camps Return in June

What motivates you to better yourself? Whether it’s waking up at 5 a.m. for a 10 mile run in preparation for a marathon, or taking night classes after your day job to increase your chances of getting that promotion, we all have a reason for putting in the hard work to achieve our next goal. But reaching our goal calls for us to map out a plan and accomplish milestones along the way. 

CEDIA Boot Camps are great milestones to achieve on your way to your next career goal in the home technology industry. These Boot Camps are an opportunity to get trusted, hands-on and classroom experience with up-to-date trends and standards. By attending these Boot Camps, you will gain the skills you need to be more effective and proficient on the jobsite and feel confident having the knowledge you need to further your career opportunities.

The Basic Boot Camp, June 22-24, will provide comprehensive training for anyone who is new to the home technology industry. This course covers industry fundamentals such as residential infrastructure and sub-system testing. Attendees will learn a variety of home technology skills including:

  • Cable and connector fundamentals
  • Residential codes, standards, and jobsite safety
  • Distributed audio and video in the home
  • Jobsite professionalism
The Home Theater Boot Camp, June 25-27, is recommended for those who already have a basic knowledge of home theater setup and are looking to take the next step in their education.  This three-day training covers advanced home theater setup topics, such as audio/video signals, room acoustics, and rack configuration. This course will teach attendees: 

  • Digital and analog signals and formats 
  • Function of various audio and video interconnects
  • Basics of room acoustics, acoustical treatment, and sound transmission issues
  • Installation of components in a professional rack configuration
  • Proper documentation and labeling of the installation
  • Installation and mounting (projector, flat-panel display, and loudspeakers) according to industry standards 
  • Basic audio and video calibration to ensure optimum system performance
