Dan McGowan
Feb 14, 2019

FISHERS, Indiana (February 14, 2019) - CEDIA is bringing its world-class training to nearly one dozen locations throughout the United States and Canada in 2019. CEDIA Local Learning includes five sessions geared toward business and technical audiences that are open to members and non-members. These events will also include the member-exclusive CEDIA Outreach Instructor "Train the Trainer" course, which prepares home technology professionals to present Continuing Education Unit-approved education to their local design and build partners.

"CEDIA Local Learning delivers training that reaches industry professionals where they are," said CEDIA Senior Vice President of Education and Certification Tom Darling. "Our staff of experienced and effective instructors has crafted each session to engage industry professionals and elevate their skills, brands, and technical savvy. The courses will help prepare learners for where the industry is going and lay a foundation for effective leadership."

Each event will include the following courses: "Human Capital: Hiring Well and Keeping Your Best Employees Engaged," "Leading for Success: Understanding What Drives Your Employees," "Next Gen Video: Providing Solutions in the Midst of Shifting Technologies," and "Integrating Wellness Technologies to Improve Health and Productivity." Individual sessions cost members $129 and non-members $179.

The COI "Train the Trainer" course has transitioned into a half day training that pairs with four hours of online training to be completed prior to the in-person session. Open only to CEDIA members, "Train the Trainer" costs $149.

The first CEDIA Local Learning event will be in March with dates spanning through early November.

"In conjunction with ramping up our efforts to build the workforce of tomorrow," CEDIA Chief Executive Officer Tabatha O'Connor said, "CEDIA is working to make learning opportunities as accessible and focused on the evolving needs of the industry as possible. The CEDIA Local Learning program takes our in-demand courses to learners in regions with some of our highest concentrations of members."
