Idaho Licensing Bill Amended to Include CEDIA’s Concerns
Senate Hearing at 1:30 p.m. today
Update on Idaho House Bill 258
On Monday afternoon, CEDIA Director of Public Policy Darren Reaman met with Idaho Representative Marc Gibbs to review the amended version of Idaho House Bill 258, legislation which will create a new heating, ventilation & air conditioning (HVAC) license category.
The amended version, which will be presented before the Senate Commerce and Human Resources committee later today, completely removes the reference to “low voltage thermostatic controls twenty four (24) volts or less.” House Bill 258 will now have no impact on the work of an electronic systems contractor.
The amended version of House Bill 258 is scheduled to be heard later this afternoon before the Senate Commerce and Human Resources Committee:
Senate Commerce and Human Resources Committee
Room 117 – Idaho Capitol Annex Building
514 W. Jefferson
Boise, Idaho 83720
(208) 332-1000
There is some question as to whether House Bill 258 will be heard today or held over for Thursday’s committee hearing due to other legislation on today’s Senate committee’s agenda. CEDIA will attend today’s hearing and will provide written comments to support the amended version of House Bill 258 and testify before Senate committee members.
Thank you for taking the time to contact your state legislators. Your activity and interest helped CEDIA’s get concerns addressed in the amended version of House Bill 258. CEDIA will provide an update following today’s Senate Committee hearing.
