Legislation on Energy Efficiency for TVs

This Issue WILL Affect Your Business

Washington House Bill 2416

Legislation has been pre-filed in the Washington State Legislature on the issue of energy efficiency standards for televisions.  Washington House Bill 2416 establishes energy efficiency standards for certain consumer products and replicates the efficiency standards for televisions adopted by the California Energy Commission in November 2009.

As currently written, the legislation would have a significant impact on the sale and installation of flat panel displays.
