Washington House Bill 2416 Legislation has been pre-filed in the Washington State Legislature on the issue of energy efficiency standards for televisions. Washington House Bill 2416 establishes energy efficiency standards for certain consumer products and replicates the efficiency standards for televisions adopted by the California Energy Commission in November 2009. As currently written, the legislation would have a significant impact on the sale and installation of flat panel displays. For full information on this legislation, click here. What CEDIA is Doing CEDIA will be working with other industry stakeholders to address concerns in the legislation and its potential impact on the residential electronic systems industry. Throughout the process CEDIA will work to educate legislators on how electronic systems contractors and manufacturers work daily to meet customers’ desire for energy-efficient homes through other solutions.
