Maryland House Bill 349, Maryland Efficiency Standards Act for Televisions, has been scheduled for public hearing before the House Economic Matters Committee on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 1:00 PM.
Maryland House Bill 349 outlines aggressive television energy efficiency standards similar to the California Energy Commission’s recently adopted standards, but the Maryland legislation accelerates the adoption of 2013 efficiency standards by 2011.
Darren Reaman, CEDIA Director of Public Policy will be attending the House committee hearing and will provide testimony to educate the committee on the potential impact the television energy efficiency standards will have on the residential electronic systems industry. CEDIA will also highlight the ways electronic systems contractors work to make their clients more energy efficient without a mandate and the benefits of the EPA ENERGY STAR standards.
