CEC Release 45-Day Language; Hearing Dates Set

The California Energy Commission (CEC) wants to regulate the power consumption of all televisions sold in California. Against the request of a joint committee of the California Legistlature, the CEC released 45-day language for television energy efficiency standards.

In the 45-day language, the CEC has defined custom home theater televisions at greater than 58 inches. CEDIA and the Californians for Smart Energy Coalition are preparing for a CEC Energy Efficiency Committee public hearing on the 45-day language.
