Legislation on Energy Efficiency for TVs

This Issue WILL Affect Your Business

Connecticut House Bill 5217

On Tuesday, the Connecticut State Legislature’s Joint Committee on Energy and Technology voted to pass House Bill 5217 out of committee.  House Bill 5217, an act concerning energy efficient products, replicates the efficiency standards for televisions adopted by the California Energy Commission in November 2009

CEDIA submitted written testimony raising concerns with the energy efficiency mandates for televisions outlined in the legislation and its potential impact to small business when it was heard in committee last month.

CEDIA continues to work with other industry stakeholders to address concerns in the legislation and its potential impact on the residential electronic systems industry.
