Collection of Information
When you visit the Sites and use any of the services provided via the Sites, we may collect information as disclosed below.
Personal Information: We collect personal information to provide the information or services requested by an individual. "Personal information" refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual who is the subject of the information. For example, when you register with the Sites, you provide us with certain Personal Information, which may include your name, your email address, your telephone number, your address, your gender and any other personal or preference information that you provide to us. We also collect this information when you register with us as a member.
Cookies: When you use the Sites, we collect your browser type and IP address. This information is gathered for all visitors to the Sites. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using "cookies." Cookies are small text files that are stored on a user's computer hard drive. They are used to keep track of and store information about the user. The information that is collected through cookies via the Sites is handled in the same manner as other information collected here. Use of Information Collected
We use the collected information to respond to requests from you, improve the Sites, or send you notifications regarding new services offered by the Sites. We shall not share, utilize, review, access, or otherwise make use of any information submitted to or exchanged with us except for the explicit purposes of operating Sites or as provided herein. We also reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we, in good faith, believe to be unlawful or related to an alleged unlawful activity.
With Your Consent: Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when information about you might go to third parties and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.
We take reasonable precautions to protect the information that is either available from or collected by the Sites. We have taken steps designed to safeguard the Sites' integrity, their telecommunications, and computing infrastructure, including but not limited to, authentication, monitoring, auditing, and encryption. Unfortunately, no data transmitted over or accessible through the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. As a result, we cannot ensure or warrant that Personal Information will be secure from misappropriation by hackers, nefarious or criminal activities, or in the event of a failure of computer hardware, software, or a telecommunications network.
The Sites may contain links to, or information about, other sites that are outside our control or custody. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other sites and suggest you review their privacy statements to understand how your information is used or shared by those other sites. We do not endorse or make any representations or warranties concerning, and will not in any way be liable for, any informational content, products, services, software, or other usage or materials available on other sites, even if one or more pages of the other sites is/are framed within our Sites.

CEDIA complies with the U.S. – E.U. Privacy Shield framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce and European Commission regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal data from European Union member countries and Switzerland. CEDIA has certified that it adheres to the Privacy Shield framework of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement. Choices Available to You: You can always choose not to provide information, even though it might be needed to use the services provided on the Sites. You can also add or update certain information. We give you access to a broad range of information about your account and your interactions with members for the limited purpose of viewing and, in certain cases, updating that information. The ability to add or update certain information will change as our Sites evolve. When you update information, we may keep a copy of the previous version for our records.
Right to Review: To the extent required under applicable law, you have the right to request a copy of the Personal Information that we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. (We require you to prove your identity with 2 pieces of approved identification). We will use reasonable efforts to supply, correct or delete Personal Information about you on our files.
Retention of Information: We will hold your Personal Information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with CEDIA, or pursuant to CEDIA's corporate retention schedule (a standard that defines which documents should be kept and for how long). If you cancel your CEDIA membership, some Personal Information is deleted immediately, and any remaining Personal Information cannot be used. The remaining Personal Information stays on the system for a period up to one year for administration purposes before being deleted or anonymized for analytical purposes.
