CEDIA
to Network with Key Legislators, Highlight Member Interests at NCSL
Conference
Indianapolis,
Ind. – Members of the Custom Electronic Design & Installation
Association (CEDIA) Government Affairs team will participate in
the 2006 National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Annual
Meeting and Exhibition, scheduled for Aug. 15-18 in Nashville,
Tenn. The conference will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention
Center and will focus on current topics and policy issues facing
business leaders and legislators in the United States.
Every summer,
NCSL organizes the annual meeting for key legislators, senior
legislative staff, state and federal agency personnel and
government relations managers from corporations, associations
and special interest groups. Approximately 20 percent of U.S. legislators
attend the NCSL meeting.
Throughout the NCSL event, CEDIA Government
Affairs members will have opportunities to meet with and educate
authors and sponsors
of priority legislation that affect CEDIA Members as well as
current and future uses of technology in residential homes. Legislative
leaders from throughout the United States will attend the conference.
In
addition, a CEDIA-sponsored LegisBrief—a briefing paper
on emerging issues that analyzes issues along with state and federal
actions on the issues—will be available to legislators throughout
the NCSL conference and exhibition. CEDIA’s LegisBrief is
titled “Licensing of Electrical Professions.”
“CEDIA’s government affairs team is eager to take advantage
of this opportunity to advance public policy efforts on behalf
of our members,” said Mitchell Klein, CEDIA’s government
affairs and public policy chair and owner of StayTuned in Boston,
Mass. “Our team of business owners, technology innovators
and other industry leaders come together every year at the NCSL
conference to help our businesses promote legislation that’s
good for business.
