CEDIA Members have met very strict membership requirements including having the necessary insurance, documentation of meeting all state and local regulations, as well as having at least one staff member who has completed CEDIA University training and passed a difficult exam to achieve CEDIA Certification. The point is this, CEDIA Members are bona fide businesses that are the most qualified to do a job and do it right the first time. CEDIA Members are more than contractors that have a beginning and end to their relationship with customers; they have long-time working relationships with their customers and serve as technology consultants for years, installing and integrating new technologies as they become available.
CEDIA Members are representative of a critical player in the home design/build process. Architects, builders and interior designers are often the first thought of professionals considered when building or remodeling a home. But as technology increasingly drives the design and layout of homes, residential electronic systems contractors are now just as important as the other disciplines and should be included in the process from day one.
Beyond gadgets, the residential electronic systems industry is about lifestyles and how the technologies, products, and more importantly the professionals who design and install amazing home networking and automation systems enhance our lives. Most CEDIA-Certified Members work in the $10,000-$75,000 range for typical electronic systems design and installation projects, but some go into the million dollar and multimillion dollar ranges as well.
