CEDIA welcomes Helge Fischer as 2006 Manufacturers’ Council
Chair
Indianapolis, Ind. – The Custom Electronic
Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has appointed Helge Fischer
of Jamo US Inc. as chair of its 2006 Manufacturers’ Council.
CEDIA’s Manufacturers’ Council works closely
with the association’s members to enhance relationships between
electronic systems contractors and manufacturers. The council strives
to promote manufacturer members through the annual CEDIA EXPO as well
as through CEDIA University and other CEDIA or industry-related initiatives.
Fischer, a native of Denmark, launched the U.S. division
of Jamo in 1979. He has served as the division’s managing director
since its founding. The original mission of Jamo U.S. as a sales subsidiary
of the Danish speaker manufacturer has evolved into a role as global
headquarters for Jamo’s custom division. This custom division
has provided a platform for Fischer’s anticipation of consumer
demands in the United States and in Europe.
“Jamo U.S. is a founding member of CEDIA, so we’re
especially pleased that Helge is assuming this leadership role within
our Manufacturers’ Council,” said Don Gilpin, Assistant
Executive Director of CEDIA. “Our entire membership—and
in particular our manufacturer members—will benefit greatly from
Helge’s extensive experience as well as his insights into emerging
industry trends.”
CEDIA is an international trade association of companies
that specialize in designing and installing electronic systems for
the home. The association was founded in September 1989 and has more
than 3,000 member companies worldwide. CEDIA members are established
and insured businesses with bona fide qualifications and experience
in this specialized field. CEDIA members include Residential Electronics
Systems Professionals who have emerged as the “fourth contractor” in
the building and remodeling industries alongside electrical, plumbing
and HVAC professionals. For more information on CEDIA, visit the association’s
Web site at www.cedia.org.
