Builders Can Now Earn Continuing Education Credit through CEDIA Courses
CEDIA’s Registered Outreach Instructor curriculum now approved for continuing education credit for NAHB members
INDIANAPOLIS (October 15, 2009)—The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has announced that members of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) may now receive continuing education credit hours for attending CEDIA courses on home technology. The courses are available as part of CEDIA’s Registered Outreach Instructor (ROI) program, which enables CEDIA members to deliver electronic systems education on a regional basis.
The ROI program is part of CEDIA’s industry outreach efforts, which seek to strengthen collaboration between electronic systems professionals and the design and build industry. NAHB joins seven other design and build industry associations in approving CEDIA’s 11 ROI courses for continuing education for their members. These associations are:
- American Institute of Architects (AIA)
- American Institute of Building Design (AIBD)
- American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)
- International Interior Design Association (IIDA)
- Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC)
- Interior Designers of Canada (IDC)
-
National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI)
As technology continues to grow and change at a rapid pace, the courses available through the ROI program help design and build professionals better understand the capabilities of residential electronic systems and the value they provide to clients. The courses are offered at no charge by CEDIA members across the U.S. and Canada.
Courses available through CEDIA’s ROI program cover such topics as hiding technology, planning for residential electronic systems, and home theater design. All courses are taught by CEDIA members who have participated in a specialized training program and who are held to strict standards for professionalism. Design and build professionals can visit www.cedia.org/outreach/locate_roi-ip.php to locate ROIs in their area.
