CEDIA certification offered at CEDIA Australasia Expo

Tenth-annual Australasian CEDIA Expo to be held July 29-Aug. 1

Indianapolis, Ind. – CEDIA is once again unveiling its CEDIA certification in Australasia at EXPO 2004—Excellence Through Education, which is being held at Gold Coast Convention Center, Gold Coast, Queensland, from July 29 through August 1.

CEDIA certification was launched in 2000 to enhance the skills and knowledge of professionals in the field of custom electronic design and installation. To date, more than 2,600 professionals have received CEDIA certification in the United States. CEDIA certification defines a series of benchmarks for designers and installers as well as clear, objective standards for the required skills and knowledge of consumer electronics designers and installers.

“CEDIA certification is an extremely important component of our membership, and the CEDIA Expo in Australasia is leading the way in showing how important education is in our industry,” said Billilynne Keller, CEDIA executive director. “CEDIA Australasia Expo 2004 is setting the bar on education in Australasia for the custom electronics industry and we’re proud to bring this level of excellence to our industry for the tenth year.”

In addition to certification opportunities, CEDIA Australasia Expo 2004 offers four days of classroom and manufacturing training instruction as well as trade exhibits. Classroom education and exhibitor product training begins on July 29 and concludes on July 31. The trade exhibition, which showcases the latest in home automation, home networking and technologies for lighting, audio, video, security and more, will also be open from July 29-31.

CEDIA EXPO 2004 will include an official opening reception, held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on July 29 and a pool party from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on July 30 on the exhibition floor in the auditorium area. Both events are complimentary for delegates and exhibitors. An awards banquet is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 31 at Warner Brothers Movieworld.
