New Opportunity for Students to Learn About Technology Based Careers
CEDIA creates a new pass allowing students to attend CEDIA EXPO
NDIANAPOLIS (August 24, 2011) – The Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) has announced it will open CEDIA EXPO to student attendees through a special Student Pass. The Student Pass will provide access to the tradeshow floor as well as discounts on education and other special activities for students age 17 and older.
CEDIA EXPO attracts thousands of residential electronic systems professionals each year to view the latest product releases and news from the home technology industry. The home technology industry is showing signs of growth. According to a recent survey, 46% of CEDIA electronic systems contractor companies anticipate adding staff positions in 2011 with an average of 2 positions per company. The median annual salary for an electronic systems technician/installer working in the field in 2010 was $40,000.
This event provides a unique opportunity for interested students and faculty to see the latest in home technologies in person. CEDIA EXPO is also the largest one-stop offering of CEDIA University education and features extensive opportunities for manufacturer product training and networking.
The Student Pass includes free admission to CEDIA EXPO, admission to the Annual Keynote Breakfast on Friday, September 9, and the Academic Orientation Session also on Friday, September 9. Students will also have the opportunity to register for any CEDIA University class (based on available space) for just $30 per session.
