Last week the new CEDIA Board gathered for our first meeting of 2016. There was an undercurrent of excitement as new board members were welcomed, the executive committee was approved, and we all sat down to cast vision for the association.
This is certainly a critical time for CEDIA as we continue to move forward after a successful re-branding that cut to the heart of where we have been and where we need to go. Our entire team of volunteer board members and professional staff have been hard at work looking at how we can continue to develop and provide members with the resources they need. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: we’ve set some ambitious plans.
Some of our early wins a month into 2016 include:
- Re-engaging with groups that represent our industry partners, such as NAHB, NKBA, NARI, AIBD, and Coldwell Banker
- Launching a New Hire Training program for CEDIA members
- Establishing year-round community-building programs that include face-to-face events, CEDIA Groups, and an online community set to launch this spring
This is only the beginning, as we talked about in the CEDIA member webinar – we have plans to create consumer-facing events, fill in the gaps in our existing training programs, and continue to leverage the CEDIA show and CEDIA Business Xchange as can’t-miss events.
I think I speak for both CEDIA professional staff and the Board of Directors when I say we're excited to get to work!
