CEDIA EXPO 2009 to Feature Grand 20th Anniversary Celebration

Event will include a look back during the Awards Banquet and a preview of the industry’s future through three expert panel discussions

INDIANAPOLIS (June 9, 2009)—The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) has announced that its upcoming annual EXPO will include a show-stopping celebration of the association’s past 20 years, including special recognition of the longtime members who have contributed to its success. In addition to honoring the winners of CEDIA’s 2009 Awards competition, this year’s Electronic Lifestyles® Awards Banquet & 20th Anniversary Celebration on Sat., Sept. 12 will feature a memorable look back at the past two decades.

CEDIA was founded in 1989 by a small group of professionals dedicated to the advancement of the up-and-coming electronic systems industry. Since that time, it has grown into an international association with more than 3,500 member companies worldwide and has come to be recognized as the universal mark of professionalism for industry businesses. The Electronic Lifestyles® Awards Banquet & 20th Anniversary Celebration will honor this growth with the introduction of the first CEDIA Fellows, an exclusive group of the core members and volunteers who have played a significant role in the association’s efforts over the years.

CEDIA EXPO – which was recognized as the #71 tradeshow in the U.S. in 2008 by Trade Show Week magazine, up from #74 in 2007 – will be held Sept. 9–13 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The event will feature more than 500 hours of education, including more than 50 hours being offered free to CEDIA members. New for 2009, CEDIA’s Technology Council will host three panel discussions that will shed light on hot topics in the industry: 3D: What You Must Know, HDMI Hot Seat and Watch this Space. Each panel will feature some of the industry’s best minds – a combination of high-level industry executives and experienced electronic systems contractors. The panels are designed to give attendees a look at the future of the industry in order to help them make more informed business decisions going forward.
