If you are teaching a course in 2008 and wish for it to be considered without revisions for 2009, you DO NOT NEED to fill out any part of this form. All courses from 2008 will automatically be considered for the 2009 program.

Submission of Revisions to Courses taught in 2008

If you are teaching a course in 2008 and want to revise the course to be considered for instruction at EXPO 2009, please complete the questions in red and the signature box below the instructor guidelines. Courses previously taught at CEDIA events will be reconsidered based on the following guidelines.

Instructor Evaluation Criteria

  • Professionalism
  • Does the instructor submit all paperwork and course handouts prior to or by the course development schedule deadlines?
  • Does the instructor behave in a professional and courteous manner at all times?
  • Does the instructor represent our industry in a professional manner both during EXPO courses and at other times?
  • Does the instructor refrain from speaking of specific products?
  • Teaching effectiveness
  • Consideration based on course evaluations filled out by course participants.
  • Observation of CEDIA course auditors.
  • Course handout material quality.
  • Does the course design apply basic principles of adult learning?

Selection Criteria
Presentation submissions will be evaluated on the following:

  • Developed and relevant objectives
  • Instructor credentials
  • Topic development as demonstrated by abstract
  • Organization of abstract
  • Detail of submission
  • Whether submission is idea-based and noncommercial
  • Completeness of submission
  • Methods of instruction utilized
  • Skills taught


Give suggested course description for promotional brochures and the conference program. This is a 50-75 word paragraph which should highlight the most important information attendees will receive. (Note: an abstract of approximately 500 words in length is also required.)

Write or copy/paste your abstract into the box below. It should be 500-750 words.

Provide the following information about your professional and public speaking qualifications.

  • Current biography or resume
  • List of past speaking engagements. Please include the topics as well as the name and approximate date of the event(s).
  • Names and telephone numbers of one or more individuals (not members of your firm) who will act as references for your public speaking ability.
  • Any additional relevant information.

If I am selected to speak at CEDIA EXPO 2009, September 10–13 2009 in Atlanta, I will submit final presentation handout materials for incorporation distribution at CEDIA EXPO by February, 2009. I have read, understood and will comply with CEDIA’s policy on commercialism.

Papers and proposals must be received no later than October 1, 2008. Courses will be reviewed and instructors notified of the status of their course(s) by January 18, 2009.
