Royal Systems

Melville, NY 11747

Instructed by Michael Maniscalco

EST333: Advanced Networking 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. EST

The purpose of this course is to expand upon the EST233 and EST243 courses to instruct participants on more advanced IP and Ethernet networking protocols and their configurations. This course will teach comprehension and usage of the various protocols required to implement LANs and Remote Access, and will address simple design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting techniques

ESCR034: Service Contracts with Teeth 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. EST

Heard the buzz about recurring revenue but aren’t sure what’s involved or perhaps aren’t comfortable incorporating new and unknown elements into your business model? Ready to get started selling service contracts to your clients but aren’t sure about the steps involved?

You’re not alone. We’re here to help. In fact, we’ll even show you how to do it quickly, easily, and profitably (and give you some time-saving tricks we’ve learned along the way too).

Lunch provided by CEDIA and product training by ihiji.

Instructed by Jeff Gardner

ESD131: Fundamentals of Home Theater Design 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. EST

The purpose of this course is to educate participants on the basic terms, elements, and requirements of a home theater design. This course examines the added value an experienced designer can bring to a project.  It also covers all of the typical components in a theater system, and covers such design challenges as viewing distance, image size, and room acoustics.

ESD232: Home Theater Design 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EST

The purpose of this course is to educate industry personnel about such design considerations as room location, layout, and shape. This course examines the impact of lighting conditions, sightlines, and noise generating components on design. This course also teaches participants the importance of factoring in ergonomics, safety, and acoustical distortion into a holistically designed room.

Lunch provided by CEDIA.

Audio & Acoustics Series (Online)

Instucted by Dr. Floyd Toole, CCI

ESD301: Home Theater and Acoustics part I

The purpose of this course is to educate industry personnel about such design considerations as room location, layout, and shape. This course examines the impact of lighting conditions, sightlines, and noise generating components on design. This course also teaches participants the importance of factoring in ergonomics, safety, and acoustical distortion into a holistically designed room.

 Key topics in Part One:

  • Basics of sound and sound reproduction

  • Sound transmission and reflection in rooms

  • Analysis of room size and shape to predict performance

ESD302: Home Theater and Acoustics part II

This is Part Two of the “trilogy” of courses dealing with sound reproduction in rooms.  Build on the knowledge from Part One and explore how loudspeakers work, and how to implement surround sound for the best cinema experience possible.  Key topics in Part Two:

  • Surround sound configurations for different audiences and room sizes

  • Loudspeaker characteristics and performance goals

  • Loudspeaker specification; fact and fallacy

ESD303: Home Theater and Acoustics part III

This is the final installment of Dr. Toole’s three part series on Home Theater Audio and Acoustics.  Apply the knowledge gained in the first two sessions to the proper design of theater surround systems that meet the performance benchmarks as well as the client’s budget and other constraints.  Key topics in Part Three:

  • Surround system design in the real world

  • Speaker selection and placement for the best coverage

  • Managing room modes and subwoofer placement for smooth bass response

IP for Technicians (Online)

Instucted by Peter Aylett, CCI

EST243: IP for Technicians

Gain a foundation to understand and configure IP (Internet Protocol) for basic device applications.  With the vast majority of subsystems now having the ability to be converged over an IP network, this is arguably the most important topic to make sure that you have a solid background in.

  • Discuss the advantages and importance of the growth in IP networking

  • Explain common network protocols such as TCP, UDP, IP, DHCP, DNS, and NAT

  • Select, install, and configure consumer routers for wired environments

  • Create and implement IP addressing schemes for connected network devices

  • Create system documentation for IP networks
