The TDS Advanced Home Network System Design and Installation two-day course is a continuation of the Home Network Fundamentals course. It covers the more advanced aspects of designing and installing home data networks to support everything from audio and video streaming to remote device access.

Based on an actual installation example, the course covers the planning, design, and implementation that it takes to offer a highly secure data network; integrated with the Internet—a network you and your customer can use to support any present and future network application. It will teach you the practical design issues of network architecture, equipment selection and configuration, maintaining network security, and proper documentation. The course will demonstrate concepts through class exercises using the class network equipment. The class network will also be used to demonstrate network equipment configuration and operation.

This course is intended primarily for those already involved in residential custom electronics installation who understand the basics of home network technology but need the advanced knowledge necessary to design and install the best and most reliable home network systems for their customers. If you think your customer deserves the highest performance home network than this course is for you. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop computer (PC or Mac) to the class.

Prerequisite: The Home Network Fundamental course or equivalent network experience
