This full day workshop covers small room acoustics, how sound behaves in typical residential environments and other related acoustics topics. It will also cover how to separate physical acoustic issues from those performance anomalies created by the speakers in to room, and the best way to deal with those problems, before doing anything else.
Following that section, the class will cover proper measurement techniques for acquiring accurate data on the performance of multi-channel loudspeakers systems in rooms. It is essential to have accurate and relevant baseline data on the real world performance of any loudspeaker system BEFORE attempting to apply any form of electronic correction.
The afternoon section will take the data that was acquired and discuss how to analyze that information to determine what problems exist and the best way to apply correction methods to those problems.
Finally the class will show how to apply such correction and analyze the results to obtain maximum performance from any system in most rooms.
Students will be working with and listening to a full 5.1 system, and will discover how to take the hardware from installed to properly setup and calibrated.
This class is designed for those who have some experience with installation and setup of multi-channel loudspeaker systems. It is NOT an entry level class.
