EST Overview & Career Path

The Electronic Systems Technician (EST) curriculum is designed to meet the ongoing education and training needs of new and experienced technicians alike. Whether a first-time or seasoned participant, the core courses in this curriculum will provide all participants with the knowledge and information needed to achieve and maintain proficiency.

The EST curriculum guides a participant through the four learning levels. ESPA courses in the 100 and 200 levels are a good start for entry level technicians. These classes act as a foundation and can be helpful for technicians planning to sit for the ESPA Certified-EST® exam. It is recommended that participants have a broad knowledge base that covers all of the main disciplines related to the residential systems integration industry. It is recommended that technicians take a wide variety of classes in each level as they work their way up to the more advanced offerings and the EST II and EST III (Advanced EST) Certifications.
