Requirements for Maintaining Your Installer Level I Credential:
The Installer Level I credential is awarded for a 36 month period. To maintain the active status as an Installer Level I, prior to the conclusion of the 36 month cycle, certificants must be able to provide documentation of completion of at least 30 contact clock hours of continuing education units (CEU) approved by the Certification Action Team. Certificants who do not have the required continuing education hours must take and pass the examination within 12 months prior to the expiration date to be eligible to maintain their certification for an additional 36 months.
Guidelines for Communicating Your Status:
An individual who passes the Installer Level I examination will attain the status of “CEDIA Certified Professional, Installer Level I.” If desired, the individual may use the abbreviated version of “Individual’s Name, CCPI I” on his or her business cards, letterhead, or other documentation.
Professional Certification is granted to an individual; therefore, he or she, not the company, retains the credential as long as he or she maintains the continuing education requirements for CCPI I. In marketing materials and other documentation, companies are allowed to identify that they have CEDIA Certified Professionals on staff; however, materials should not indicate that the company is “CEDIA Certified.”
