CEDIA Electronic Systems Technical Reference Manual
The first edition of the Electronic Systems Technical Reference Manual provides a comprehensive resource for anyone who installs, designs, or has an interest in residential electronic systems. It was created to fill the necessity for a reference book that serves the continuing education needs of our industry. The Electronic Systems Technical Reference Manual consolidates the information that has found to be most applicable to residential technicians and designers. Chapters are presented by discipline; concepts within each chapter progress from the simple to the most complex. Key terms are provided to further define concepts and review questions allow the reader to gauge comprehension.
The outlines of exam content (the Job Task Analyses) from both the CEDIA EST III (Advanced EST) and Designer certifications, sample exam questions, and a summary of the certification development process are all included in the appendix of the book.

Requirements for Maintaining Your EST II Credential
The EST II credential is awarded for a 36 month period. To maintain the active status as an EST II , prior to the conclusion of the 36 month cycle, certificants must be able to provide documentation of completion of at least 30 contact clock hours of continuing education units (CEUs) approved by the Certification Action Team.
Certificants who do not have the required CEUs must take and pass the exam within 12 months prior to the expiration date to be eligible to maintain their certification for an additional 36 months.
Guidelines for Communicating Your Status
An individual who passes the EST II exam will attain the status of “CEDIA Certified Professional, EST II .” If desired, the individual may use the abbreviated version of “Individual’s Name, CCP EST II” on his or her business cards, letterhead or other documentation.
Professional Certification is granted to an individual; therefore, he or she, not the company, retains the credential as long as he or she maintains the CEU required for CCP EST II. In marketing materials and other documentation, companies are allowed to identify that they have CEDIA Certified Professionals on staff; however, materials should not indicate that the company is “CEDIA Certified.”
