Certification Online

CEDIA is currently in the process of updating the Canadian EST III exam.  The exam will be released in 2011. The updated exam will be available at CEDIA events and via online proctored testing centers in Canada in 2011.

Electronic Systems Technician II (US, English)

Electronic Systems Technician III (US, English)

Designer (US, English)

Exam cost: $250 for members; $350 for non-members, plus a $75 site fee.

Exam Registration Deadline:
Registration must be done 10 days in advance of the exam date you request. This is to ensure you receive a seat at the exam location of your choice. It may take up to 7 days to receive your final appointment time.

Exam Requirements:
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent to take any CEDIA Exam. You must present a valid photo-ID to the exam proctor.

Exam Cancellation Policy:
You must cancel in writing five days prior to the scheduled written exam session and a $25 cancellation fee is applied. If you do not cancel with at least five days notice or fail to show up for the written exam, no refunds will be given.

If you need to reschedule your online exam, you must do so 10 days prior to your scheduled exam time in writing.  A $50 rescheduling fee will apply.  If you submit a rescheduling request within 10 days of your scheduled online exam or fail to show up for your scheduled online exam, you will be required to submit a $100 fee to reschedule. All requests should be directed to certification@cedia.org.

Re-Taking the Exam:

If a candidate received a failing score, he or she may retake the exam up to three times in one year.  A period of 30 days must elapse between tests before a candidate may re-take the exam for the second time, and a six-month period must elapse between the second and third exam in a given year.  Candidates who fail to pass the exam after three attempts must complete a course of continuing education or training specified by the CPC Board before another exam may be scheduled.
